Smile water temp sending units

I am installing a 2000 corvette LS1 in a 1951 chevy truck, I am using Omega gauges with their sending units. The question is do I have to use the OEM sending unit from chevy or can I use the one from Omega? I do not know wether the one from Omega will work with the PCM. Any help would be appreiated.

I'm not sure whether the aftermarket sender will work with the pcm ( I would imagine not) but I do know that you 100 percent have to have the temperature sensor/sender (drivers head). I drove my car for a while without the rubber seal on the connector and it would move around a little and come disconnected but still be plugged in. The car constantly spit and sputtered. I would say your best bet is to wire it how it would have been in the vette and then run the gauges all seperately.
