I know you want to stay within budget, but I would talk to someone that specs custom cams. They will be able to give you exactly what you want for a rpm range and for your power goals. If it was me in your shoes I would take my time and make sure that only high quality parts go inside my engine. A motor as nice as a LS should not be built with cheap parts. Plus it actually saves money if you do it right the first time.

Well those are the numbers Im looking for... actually a little better than my goal which is always better!! Is anything done to your heads or just factory ones bolted on? Does your set up look similar to what I have planned besides manufacturer brands and that I will be using the Torquer V2 instead of the V3? I am also going LS6 intake which I assume you have?

I did consider a custom grind and when its time to order parts I plan on talking technical with the cam provider to figure out a perfect match up for springs/push rods etc. Im not going cheap with the parts for the exact reasons that you state... Also This is my baby and my long time dream car and I do not want to stress about cheap parts everytime I drive it especially since it will be driven almost daily in the summer... I couldve looked into a vette or a viper if I really wanted but this is my all time dream and just happened to be the cheaper of the 3. But that aggressive styling it is the best! I will be using proven parts with proven numbers and a good reputation. Im just trying to nail down the right combination to hit my goals. 400rwhp and maintain as a daily driver and reliability.

with better flowing heads you can use a mellower cam.a torquer v3 mite make it with your current heads.if you get low mileage 243/799 heads do a valve seat leak test.consider a cam from Damian or EPS,or tick .check out Texas Speed for the parts you will need, they have good prices on parts.

Stock ls6 intake and 243's just have a valve job. Have you purchased the v2 yet? If you're deciding between the two, the v3 will net you more hp and will still work with the 241's. I only invested in the 243's because I plan on going with a 370 eventually...but they can gain you about 20hp.

Awesome, things are looking more definitive then for my set up to hit my goals. I keep seeing mixed reviews... some saythe 241's and many have hit 400rwhp and some say there is no way you will hit 400rwhp with those heads. I think its in my best interest just to do the heads while im tore into it that deep. I see that the V3 does net a little more power than the V2 and power comes in a little earlier. How is the driveability and it for a street driver with the V3?? Is it parking lot friendly with that cam? I dont think so but dont have to flycut the pistons with that cam correct? I see it is .643/598 that ".643" is getting to a big number??

I think u can do better than the tqr v3 its got a lot more lift than id want to run on stock rockers. Plenty of people do, but not me. I liked the 228r I had and not only is it a more streetable cam, but easier on valvetrain and longer spring life.

Thanks for the input. I think Ive come to the conclusion that im going to go with the Torquer V2 and the rest of my upgrades but will go with some 243's. I do want to mill the 243's to get to a 11:1 c/r that way I can run 91-93octane. My concern though is PTV (piston to valve clearance). If I mill the 243's to reach that 11:1 should my PTV be ok running a stock gasket size? Stock rockers etc. I assume I will most likely only find the non-Z06 243's so I WILL NOT have the longer sodium filled valves. I might get lucky and find some but im going to go with the scenario that I will not have those ones. What do we think about the PTV at milling the 243's to achieve 11:1?

Id recommend taking a look at the Tick "SNS" torqueMAX Stage 2 Camshaft.
IMO better lobes then the Tqr V2 or V3.

Just a little update... Brought it to the tuner today for a street tune! Finished buttoning it up on Saturday and sounds fabulous! I cannot wait to get it back from the tuner and then hopefully get a good couple rain showers and the street sweepers out so I can bring it out. I went with everything that is in signature below my posts. I went a little above and beyond and didnt cut corners... I paid the $$$$ to do it but I know its worth it to get it done.
