Default new shortblock

Well my lifter gave and damaged the block. Nobody in my area will resleeve it. So I'm thinking about buying a new shortblock. What is everybody think about Livernois or Texas speed 408 set ups.

might help if you post about the topend. heads and valvetrain are critical to power, folks aren't going to be comfortable commenting without knowing what the package is.

What's your question? Are you asking about the quality of those packages, what setup to use? ??

TSP and Livernois both build good budget 408s.

HKE and AES also build good 408 shortblocks.

Livernois doesn't state who builds there rods/crank. They do use Diamond pistons. I would assume their machine work is top notch.

TSP offers you pretty much whatever you want and have a solid reputation.

AES builds some of the highest HP LS cars out there so their quality is pretty well documented. And at affordable prices.

HKE is owned by Erik Koenig, probably the best LS engine guru. I usually rank then ahead of everyone else.

I wouldn't hesitate to go with any of these builders, but I'd look at HKE and AES closely, especially if you have a specific power number in mind.

ERL would also be a good one to look into as well.

Choose from the good number of sponsors here on LS1tech. You'll need to call them and tell them your needs and plans.

Location is important also. Where are you?

Here's a video of our CNC block machine cutting digitizing a LS block. No other LS engine builder in the country does the level of detail that we are able to do thanks to this machine.
