I'm looking for a good low to mid-range cam for an all stroke 382 setup.
I have the B1 in the car now, with St. 2 ported heads. I don't like the radical-ness of the cam. (Actually, I don't mind it, the wife hates it!!!)
I want a can with a mild (at most) idle that'll make good low and mid range torque.
I'm also gonna go ahead and upgrade my clutch. What does everyone prefer for a strong, streetable clutch. I want to hear good and bad about each clutch you guys have ran!
The car IS still gonna be my daily driver, so I need everthing to be somewhat mild. If I wanna go really fast, I gotta Blue bottle in the closet!
I know you guys are THE LS1 experts, so suggest away!!!
Thanks in advance!

Besides, There is no way a 228/228 lope will "disappear" at 850rpm.

Any more suggestions???
I really want good low end and mid range, top end power would be nice too, but I guess that's probably too much to ask for!
Keep the suggestions coming guys!!!
Thanks again!

I think you'll have all the torque and mid range power you'd wnat with a stroker. Just pick a fairly mild cam for it. I'd think even an XER 224 114 might do what you want, but Ragtop's choice of 228 would be pretty good.
I'd expect a XER 224 114 to idle better than a B1. You'd just have to ignore the valvetrain noise.

I find it hard to beleive that you can even notice a B1 221/221 114 LSA cam in a stroker. The cubic inches will eat up a cam and tame it down. I'm running a 232/236 in my 383 which is also a daily driver, and it's only kind of lopey. I would think you could run a 224/224 114 LSA cam in one of these without even the slighest hint of a cam. Whatever cam yoou choose, get rid of the advance in the cam if you're staying small. You don't need it with the extra cubes (example: 224/224 114 LSA 114 ICL). The cubes will make the lowend torque and getting rid of the advance in the cam will make a little more power up top.
