Default Am I missing something?

The engine that I'm looking at is set up with the following:
99 LS1
LS6 intake
243 heads
Thunder cam 230/224 (.571 .563 111 LSA)
7.4 hardened pushrods
LS2 lifter trays
Patriot Extreme Gold dual valvesprings

Running through Hooker headers and a 3" exhaust it made 386 whp and 379wtq. I thought this combo would have done significantly better.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

i have a feeling that it could do more HP and those cam numbers 230/224???
228/232 might have been better....

Could just be a stingy dyno. I would have expected ~420whp out of a setup like that. Take it to the track and see what it traps. A H/C LS1 car should be around a 120 car.

AmDWs6: I am assuming that the builder used this:
http://www.thunderracing.com/shop-by...ain/Camshafts/
The 230/224 comes with the Patriot gold springs...

auto?

I would check those crappy valve springs and do a leak down on that engine.

If it traps good at the track, then forget the dyno numbers

If it has stock haeds and maybe the exhaust/mufflers are holding it back a little, I would say that's about right.

The heads are not ported, and it's a 6M. Run through Hooker headers and 3" Magnaflow.

Looks decent. Not all h/c cars are dyno queens. I wouldn't worry.

OK, and I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking it might be worth an additional 10-20 hp, so it's good to hear that it's in the right ballpark.
