Default Engine lift plate template or basic measurements anyone ?

Hey guys I found a motor from a friend of mine but he is away an I'm going to pick it up but I can't make the plate there and I'm in Canada and don't have time to wait for one and also pay duty for over night shipping I wanna build one that at worst I just drill holes at the site when I pick up the motor !

Anyone can measure there intake flange for me or know where there is a template ??

Josh

Use an old LS1 valley cover and weld 2 aluminum "D's", hoops, or equivalent.

That's what I did, traced valley plate and welded tabs onto my steel plate.

Go to Autozone, get a new gasket and use it to mark the holes, since you can't use chain and bolts.

Ill try the gasket tomorrow idea thanks. It's -40 out and I rather not mess around with chains in the cold. Plus I got to drive 3 hours for it.
