Default ARP rod bolt resizing

Whats the proper way to go about finding out if the rod bolts changed the bore of the rod? platigauge? or have a vice and put the rod in the vice and tighten and then measure?

Dial bore gauge, torque the bolts and measure.

The thing I noticed about ARP rod bolts for the LS1 is that they are longer by a few threads...I have used them on several motors without them distorting the rod or needing re-sized FWIW...always check though....Katech is the same length as OEM and claim to not need re-sized, I have used Katech also, just a bit more pricey

All aftermarket rod bolts distort the bore, that's a fact. The question is how much do they distort? Enough to warrant re-machining? Most likely. Will the engine live without machining? Possibly. It's a gamble. Some win, some lose.

And in My opinion leaving the ARP's torqued for maybe a few days before measuring because tq-ing Them and measuring right away won't be as accurate because I'm sure once They're in the engine with the forces and heat,,,being applied to Them They will undoubtedly distort more than immediately after tq-ing Them so I'm sure the longer They sit torqued even without running Them the more They will distort thus when machined will remain a little truer.
