Default need help with budget heads

Have a cammed ls6. Its 638/624, 237/240 on a 111lsa iirc. I was wondering if 243's would be okay for a cam only setup or if some worked 5.3 heads would be better. 5.3 with the smaller Chamber hurt ptv clearance at all?

Can anyone chime in?

I can afford 1-7/8 headers only or get 1-3/4 and get some stock 243's

you can sink the valves deeper into the valve seat with the 5.3 head to gain some PTV .you will need to measure for correct length push rods.

Long story short. Sold my stock ones when i put big heads on it. Sold the big heads to a buddy, now I'm hunting again. I can have 5.3 heads gone through(ported) for about $500+ parts. 243's are around 400 shipped plus springs. Then any additional porting and milling.

Since the 5.3 route is cheaper for you go with it. There wouldnt be a huge difference between them and the 243/799
