Default slight ticking noise after running

On my third run, i could not get into 4th gear and reved it. Now i notice a slight ticking noise. I have bent pushrods before but these are hardened pushrods. Anyone ever bent a hardened pushrod? I'm thinking that is what it is.

Does it get louder the higher the engine revs, or is it just at idle?

The ticking doesn't get louder but it is faster as the motor revs. In other words, the ticking keeps up with the revs and is more noticeable at higher rpm.

Could be a lifter or a rocker arm! Just because you have hardened pushrods doesn't mean they won't bend. You definitely need to check them out before more damage occurs

That sounds like a lifter to me. I had the same noise and that was the culprit. Let to a comeplete engine replacement from the dealership!
