SBE LS1 Heads/cam budget build!
Ok, this is my first LS build and my plan is to go turbo later this year so I decided to build a budget 5.7 to get my car on the road until I get all my parts for my 88mm turbo build. The car is a 95 Lt1 Transam that ran high 10's n/a with a 383 that i built and 9's on n20. It now weighs 3100lbs, Th400 trans, Fab 9" rear with 3.73's.So I'd like to go a little quicker with this build. I started off with a 2000 LS1 in excellent shape($650) changing the bearings, LS6 oil pump, LS2 timing chain, TSP 233/239 598/603 112 cam I bought off the F/S section $225.I shipped the heads to Lloyd Eliott to get fully ported and milled .010, bought a LS6 intake used, porting the stock T.B., adding the trunion upgrade, ls7 lifters, buying some 1-7/8" eBay headers and just running short dual 3" exhaust with bullet mufflers. Lastly I'm going to add 150-200hp n20 already have too, when it's tuned and running perfect. What do you'll think of this setup, am I missing anything?

I bought Brian Tooleys valve spring kit for $200, they came with springs, retainers, keepers and seals. I'm also going with hardened pushrods once I get the heads on and measure for length. Although I'm pretty sure 7.4's will work from what I've read. If anybody has some new lifters, I'm looking for a set.

Ok. I decided to swap heads for a set of ported 5.3's so I could up the compression and make more power both on motor and n2o. What do you guys thinbk should gain HP and TQ across the board with 4cc smaller chambers right?
