Default Need advice, keep my current cam or swap?

Currently I have a Full Bolt on Z/28 with a SS3600 MS3 on 113 LSA & 42 lbs injectors. The car had 3.73 10 bolt, that ate it's pinion gear and is getting replaced in the next week or so. I know the stall size is the absolute minimum size you'd want with this cam. As luck would have it [ if you want to call it that ] my flexplate is cracked and I will be replacing it with a Yank SFI unit. Since I am dropping the trans to fix this I will be sending out my Yank converter to be restalled to an SS4000.

Now to the reason for this thread.

Since installing this cam I have never really been impressed with the overall performance of this cam. Part of me knows it's because this is a larger cam that needs supporting mods that I don't have right now. I bought it because I got a killer packaged deal with my trans and converter and thought that I could make it run well since most MS cam cars around here don't.I'm stuck at a crossroads with what I should do. I just purchased a Futral F13 112 lsa cam on here because I felt it would give me better street manners and work better with my current stall.

My car is mostly street driven and has not seen a track in a few years but that will change but it will still be a 85-90% street car.

Do you think I should keep trying to make the MS3 run properly or am I always going to feel that it doesn't perform as well? What other mods would I need to do to really make this car shine and run correctly?Or will I end up being happier with the Futral?

Basically I want a solid street car that will run correctly, have usable power and not be your typical shitty cam only setup that can keep growing once I put some nice heads and intake on it in the future.

Thank you for your advice and input as well as reading my lengthy first post

IMO the F13 would be better suited to your setup than what you have now.

Maybe your tune needs some work not sure what you have. With that new stall a 112 may be a lil more streetable for you

I'd choose the Futral F13 over the MS3 in your setup.

If you go with the F13 you could probably stick with the SS3600. Have you talked to yank about the converter for the F13? If you stay with the MS3 then I would consider moving up to a SS4000. I have battled with myself on moving up to a 4000 but I think since my car is 99% street driven the 3600 would be best for me.

You have a couple choices here, install the F13 cam and leave the converter alone or leave the MS3 cam and go with the higher stall converter and 243 heads. That MS3 cam needs better flowing heads and more compression, you are choking it with stock heads.

Yea yank wants $275 + shipping. I can get my cam swapped for $300 or less if I take most of the things off myself. I've never installed a cam before but I have installed every other mod on my car.

It sounds like Cam only the F13 will be a better fit.
