Head cam intake, 383, or 402
I cant make up my mind. I just pulled the motor out of my car last night. 30K mile LS1. I have a set of 799 heads coming, and a LS6 intake. I may port the heads myself or send them to AI for their 232 cc job. I plan on milling them to 62cc and running a thin cometic gasket to get the compression up. I pulled the motor to make it all easier and incase I need to fly cut.
Part of me is like why not stick a stroker kit in it for a 383 ls1 or buy a new LS2 block and build a 402. I can get a brand new LS2 block for 1000. The rotating assembly cost the same it would just be buying the LS2 block and having it finish honed. I know the money would be way more than the HCI LS1 but that is not a real big deal. I have had several 383 small blocks and love them, it would be nice to say its a 402.
The car is just a street weekend toy so I am not looking for every little bit of HP. Just something really fun to drive.
