Can somebody give me details on if you can or how to deck stock LS1 block?
If you can, how much can you go? Are the sleeves protruding from the block itself, for better sealing? If so, how much, and is that a must???
Thanks, I know questions like this get on you guys nerves, but I know you'll tell me straight up!
Thanks in advance,
Taco

I'm much happier with interesting questions...you don't see this one very often. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Yes, you can and need to deck the LS1 block. They are generally way out. You don't want to take more than .005" unless you absolutely have to.
Since most pistons will protrude .008", you can end up with a lot of piston out of the hole very easily.

and no, the sleeves themselves will not be protruding from the block. Just the pistons. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Just remember that all of your rotating assembly depends on your deck height.
