Default looking to do some motor work need help

Im looking to have a cam installed in my ls1 camaro , I already have kook long tube headers , k&n air intake , and custom exhaust which im changing .

I called a shop today to ask some questions and was told to change the injectors , push rods , springs , ad a double roller timing chain, new oil pump , when i do the cam since ill have the motor apart . I agreeto do that work being it only makes sence since im not looking to take it apart again ..was qouted $2400 for parts and labor seems like a good price not sure tho ...

my question is Im looking to do a cam in the car but not sure what size or type to get also what size and brand should i get in all the other parts and is there anything else i should do to the car when i have it apart

the car is a 2000 ss m6 ls1 130,000 miles ..looking to get the most hp with out breaking the bank the $2000-$3000 range is where id like to stay

do the cam install yourself with someone local, 2,400 for a cam install is sky high.

might want to look at this

getting quotes on labor prices forced me to start doing my own work...

unless its machine work on my engine, transmission internals or rear end internals then I do my own work..

Ok so $1,000 estimate in parts, $1,400 labor.. I guess thats not bad for labor since that will take a shop a good day or 2..

are they going to tune it? if not figure another $400.00 to have it dyno tuned somewhere..
