Scat I-Beam or H-Beam rods?
Im looking into rods and I have found 2 sets from Scat. One is an I-Beam and the other is an H-Beam. Which one should I get? I mean both r forged 4340 and the I beam is about $118 less. ill be pushing maybe 500 HP. Should i save the extra money and just buy the I-Beam?

The H-beam would be stronger. But i wouldn't use anything made by scat!
You can pick up a set of Callies compstar's for about the same price. There
quality is light years better than scat.

Just check the price of Callies H Beam rods, they want 667$ for them. Compared to Scat H beams for 450$ But I do agree that Callies is better then Scat by far.

I disagree, I have a callies crank and rods in a first gen sbc. I had to go through two cranks to get a good one due to excessive taper on some journals. The rods had to be resized as they were too tight for my comfort.
I think the Scat Pro Comp I beam rod is more than strong enough for most applications, has a good reputation, and is a good value.
