I beam rods are stronger and lighter, but more expensive. H beam rods are still a lot stronger than stock, but heavier than I beams and are cheaper than I beams.

I'm personally running a set of Eagle H beams in my 408 and spin it to 8,000 rpms, and also running them in my turbo d16 Honda motor setup for 30psi

If your pockets are deep enough get the best possible rods you can afford along with a strong crank and pistons since your going to be putting a lot of stress on the bottom end.

I would suggest a Callies Performance "Ultra" I-beam style connecting rod.

Mark i think you got it backwards the I beams cost less, the H beams cost more. Budget permitting go with the Callies. If you on a tight budget run some scat I beams.

I believe mark is talking about a billet I Beam rods, which are more expensive/stronger than a typical h beam. The Lunati billets or callies would work great. Also there are aluminum rods that will handle that kind of power. All depends on budget/use.

Yup i was talking about billet I beams which can't be beat for strength and weight, but ate very pricey.
I read a few very good articles on connecting rods that go into depth on grain structure, weight and forces put on the connecting rod....if you you a little searching there is a lot of good info on it, I just don't have any links handy.
