Default sleeve question

ok guys i know i post alot but plz bear with me. As we all know our engine have a piston slap, oil consumtion knoking problem. I heard that gm had put out some new ring desing that is supose to help this. Is there anything else out there that could help with this problem, exept machining the block. So it would have to be something i could buy and install in a home garage, or do in a home garage. Iam rebuilding my engine in a home garage and i want to put it back in the car with all the little fixes to the problems it has, or at least as many as possible. Please let me know what you all know.

2002's have PTFE coated pistons, that supposedly helps piston slap

Don't bother. I had my rings replaced and it didn't do anything. The problem is in the tolerences of the block and the fact that GM went to skirtless pistons.

Mine was so bad I got a new engine from my extended warranty company.

well i am out of warranty, and there is no use goign to gm cause my car is moified, it's got a camn, all emisions have been remove and i mean all, plus intake and exaust done so gm won't even touch it with a ten foot pole so i got to do this on my own. Which is why iam posting so much on here trying to get some answers on whats best to do.

ps: could i get skirt pistons for an ls1 are they sold by anyone, and would they fit?
