Default Gasket sets

So I was looking for gasket set tonight, and I found this,

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-3621-co...asket-kit.aspx

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-3622-co...asket-kit.aspx

and

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sl...ubmodel/z28-ss

I can get a complete set from TSP for $500 or a complete set from summit for $250... am I missing something?

those TSP kits you mentioned are using "cometic" brand gaskets... they are usually 2x the price of stock GM gaskets..

Supposedly the cometics seal better, I know alot of people use them for head gaskets because the come in .040 size to make quench in a ls1 optimal (.030-.040)

I dont know what brand gasket the summit racing uses..

just curious but what do you need a whole kit for, full engine rebuild?

ok thanks.

Well I have the engine out for a cam and head install, plus I had a rear main seal leek. So I figured I might as well replace all the gaskets well I am there.

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-173-bas...asket-kit.aspx

or this one, should save you some money over the cometic kit

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-194-del...asket-kit.aspx

plus these use GM gaskets
