Cutout question
hello everyone im a new member to this site and just had a quick question. I have done the research on this topic but didnt find what i was looking for.
I have an 02 ws6 with slp catback and want a louder exhaust as this setup isnt all that loud. the rest of my exhaust is stock. So putting a cutout in would hopefully give me that sound im looking for until I get the money for a full exhuast. My question is though where is the best spot to put it. Can I get it before the cats, and if I did will it sounds good or like a dumptruck? since if I put it after the cats it wont sound to much different since the slp catback. any advice would do great thanks.

It goes in the I-Pipe right before passenger rear tire basically under where the passenger sits. I had a cutout for many years. It will be louder but with stock manifolds and cats will no be as raspy and loud as cars with aftermarket setups. I'd day scratch the cutout and go with a GMMG exhaust. They sound amazing especially with stock manifolds and cats.
After the cats. I am not sure what it stands for but I have a buddy that has number 48 blackbird and his mom has the number 5 CETA blackbird. They come with GMMG exhaust. go to ls1sounds.com and it has an array of setups or simply go on youtube.
I do not think that is possible. The general consensus is to place the cutout in the I-Pipe. It will be considerably louder than the catback. I had a flowmaster catback and when the cutout was open it was stupid loud.
The tone or note will be the same... But it will be very loud when wide open.
To me, it's not worth it to put them right after the headers. You will need two cutouts and some custom pipe work... So it would better to just spend that cash on headers and a new y-pipe.
