so a stock crank should be fine for my app. so just forge the pistons. truck cranks are longer on trans side i have an ls1 crank available will that work?? i think so?? gotta look at it to see if it accepts a 6spd the truck crank doesn,t if the ls1 crank doesn,t have 6spd provisions then a stock GM 24 tooth gun drilled for 6 spd would be good enough for say 600 to 650 hp with arp main cap studs???

Only the early truck cranks were longer. Any 216 casting crank will work. But everything will have to be balanced.

bww3588, where is the #216 at? i also looked at my ls1 and found a pressed in plug at the back of the crank drilled a hole in it and pulled it out and low and behold i can see the crankshaft dumb move on my part. gotta get a plug now and replace it. does anyone know the depth off hand to see if this ls1 crank will work on a 6spd? and how many miles on a crank would you guys recomend to keep useing? the ls1 has 70k on it. thanks ahead for all your help.
