LQ4 with L92 heads cam ?
I have stock 2004 LQ4 shortblock with L92 heads. I am wondering if I should mill heads or leave them alone(haven't chosen cam yet but loooking for something with broad power for road coarse and light drag strip duty. car is 62 pontiac catalina 3.73 gears 5 speed manual going to run victor jr. with holley 750-800 dp.) worried about piston to valve clearance- don't want to flycut because I will be building forged bottom end later on. I was curious on which cams you all might be running without the flycut as well. Any info will be gratly appreciated.

I would mill the heads at least .020" to bring the compression up a little. This will give you a 67cc head. With a LQ4 and no milling on those L92's your compression is gonna be horrible. I was running a LQ9 370 with L92's milled .020 and my cam was almost the same 226/236 588/600 114. Still wasn't happy with the power it was making low to mid range, or up top for that matter. I personally think you should mill them .030 to .040" and run the LG G6X3 cam to see any real power and flycut if you have to. This is what I was gonna do but decided to go aftermarket heads instead. Just my opinion, hope it helps.
