Default SSRA & Shaner S3 installed

Well guys I just took the car out of storage yesterday, and finished intstalling my SSRA & Shaner S3 TB. First impression was a crisper throttle response (especially at higher speed) but no noticeable power increase by the old but dyno. We shall see in a few weeks if it made a difference though, as I will race my buddy who was a dead nuts race from a roll on. Also will be getting the nitrous going soon as well

Oh...also for those of you who have done the SSRA, did the 5 little screws that attach the bottom scoop to the bumper not sit in flush all the way for any of you? My bottom scoop does not sit flush with the underside of the bumper, so the little screws that came with it did not go in fully into the bumper. My only concern with that is support and stability even thought it seems solid as it sits now

Yeah CAI is a mod that you will see .1 or so off 1/4 time. Not big enough to actually tell unless its up top you might be able to feel it pull a little more.

IDK why yours wouldnt fit flush all mine have and does. If yours doesnt then I would get under the car and sink those screws in so it does. You dont want a gap there.
I cant imagine anything thats keeping yours from being flush beside you not sinking the screws in all the way

Did you slip the bottom duct inside the top duct? Only other thing I cant think of is the bottom duct might be to far to the front if you did not

Yeah it basically has about a 1/8" gap, so the damn screws simply won't go in all the way. When you installed yours did you push the bottom piece into the top one as far as you could? I'm wondering if I pushed it in a tad too far causing the bottom piece to be too far back a little. Know what I mean?

Edit: You beat me to it...must have been reading my mind lol

Are the screws hitting the bumper support or something

No the screws aren't hitting the support or anything...kind of hard to explain. Okay picture this: You know how the bottom scoop sort of curves out to run flush along the underside of the bumper? Well instead of mine being totally flush it hangs about an 1/8" or so from the bumper. Make sense?

It should be impossible to shove that lower duct in too far. It should go in untill the hood latch stops it from going any further. Look at the pic. See where the bottom duct is being stopped by the hood latch?

Heres pics of how flush the bottom duct fits...

Hmmm...yeah you make a good point about the hood latch actually! I wonder if my bottom piece was just a little shorter than usual. Yours looks perfect

Hmmm ok. Yeah I know what you mean but there must be something stopping the bottom joint from pivoting so that the front does not fit flush. Once you fit that bottom duct in there it should pivot enough so it lays flush with the bumper.

Is your upper duct siting flat under your airbox like mine?

How about your air damn plastic stuff? What did you do with that? Could any of that be installed wrong in front of the top duct? That can change the angle of the upper duct making the bottom duct not pivot enough to reach the bumper flush.

The upper piece sits nice and flush under the airbox for sure. As far as that plastic stuff...the instructions said it was not to be reinstalled so I junked it.

I trimmed all mine so it fits. I think its better to have it there to guide the air but back to your problem...
I really dont know what else to tell you. Try taking pics so I can see it?

I've debated adding the Chrs1313 ram air to my car vs just sealing the WS6 hood to the ram air box. Seems to me the Chrs1313 would work a bit better (just a bigger version of the SSRA). Do you guys see any difference in cooling when driving around since it blocks the radiator?

No difference at all yet, but it's only 45 out today. From what I hear the temp increase at idle and whatnot is very small if any

Gaining 1-2mph in the quarter mile from a piece of metal is always good.

Okay I got those screws to go in... I used a damn electric drill and sheer brute force lol! Something was not right though...even with the drill it was tough as hell, and it started to strip the screws. Oh well they are in now, and it's not going anywhere lol
