High Temperature on LS1
Hi I think I have a problem with high temperature. I bought an adapter for OBD2 read real-time information from the ECU. I was parked in my backyard and I leave the engine running I try OBD2 adapter and after some minute a high temperature alarm is appeared. The temperature was 101 ° C. 30sec after the fan is taken over and returned to 89 ° C. I still leave the engine running again and the temperature rose to 101 ° C. Is it normal that even park the temperature rises as high as that?
I have another question, I think a LS1 there are 2 temperature sensor. there is a sensor on the cylinder head and the other on the water pump. What is the function of these two sensor? thank you
If it helps this is a LS1 corvette 03 in a Trans-am 89

The fans kicking on is normal. The stock t-stat is 210. So the thermostat isn't opening until it hits 100 C.
You're getting no airflow parked, so the fans are going to kick on. It should have been just the first fan though. If both fans kick on then it's getting pretty damn hot. Once it cools back down to 190 or whatever the fans will kick off. You can tune when they kick on and kick off. The 190-210 window is there for greatest fuel economy. Put a 160 degree thermostat and tune it for like a 150-160 window, IIRC, and you'll pick up power.
