Default LS1 Pre-Rebuild Questions

Hey everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this. If I am in the wrong section, please guide me to the correct section. I am thinking of rebuilding my LS1 engine in my 2000 Camaro Z28. Ever since I bought it it has had an oil leak, but it is progressively getting worse. If I do end up rebuilding her, I want to do it right, and i don't want it to go back into the car stock. What do I need to make 400+ horsepower? Will my rear end and tranny be able to handle this increase in power? What is the best place to get parts? Thanks in advance everyone!

Texas Speed and the ws6 store are some places to start looking at for parts.how many miles on the motor ?maybe you only need some new crank seals .get a ls6 intake and a ported TB.have the heads freshened up ,and consider a TSP torquer v2/3 cam shaft.buy the cam pkg.you will need a 3500 rpm stall .you rear and trans should handle the power ,rebuild the trans if over 100k miles.get a trans cooler and a deep trans pan .consider some comp cam trunnion bearings for the stock GM rockers.

The motor has just under 108k miles. And I'll check those stores out. Thanks.
