I beat a 03 cobra with a TNT 75 shot and a Vig 3600 on street tire for a 30 roll. I was shocked!

Driver Mod, my best friend has an 03 w 413rwhp (CAI & Catback) and I beat him every time with my 00 SS 309 rwhp. I have seen many 03 Cobra's at NED and most are 13 second cars.

People give the 03 Cobras too much credit. They CAN be fast, but they are just heavy cars with boost stock. When one beats me I will give them more credit..

when you said that you want to beat cobra i think you meant you want to beat a modded one right? it makes no sense in having a modded car that beats a stock car... modded cobras range from 440-500(stock superchrager) this is where 99% of modded cobras are located.. and to beat those you will need 470-490 to beat all of them.. i dont care how many people tell me that H/C will do it.. i dont belive that a H/C car would beat a 500RWHP cobra... those H/C cars that will be close to the cobra will be wild and not a true daily driver(actually a daily hussler) i know cobras are heavy but look at the torque numbers and you will understand wat i mean... what i recommend is going with a cam(C2 MTI) and a 125 shot.. with that setup you will be able to set the record straight with most cobras.. please understand me .. i am not saying you will bea all of them.. those cars are fast and can be easily modded if a cobra owner just dumps 5000-6000 bucks in his car .. you will have a hard time catchin up with him whatever you do.. but dont worry as most cobra owners hesistate to go over 500rwhp becuase of the cost invloved(they can get 130RWHP for 2000.. i doubt they will pay 6000 dollars for 40 or 50 rwhp as soon as they hit the 500 mark)

We need 400+rwhp to play their game.

I have to disagree. We have several 03/04 Cobras in my area making 450 to 500rwhp and I have beat them all on my old setup. From a stop and from a roll. I have NEVER made 470rwhp. I did not have to spray them or anything. You have to realize something as well.. What a 03/04 Cobra makes on a dyno under optimal conditions and what they put down on the street is too different things. Too many factors can affect a forced induction car and make it not perform up to its dyno #'s. Actually locally we have a guy who dyno'd 474rwhp with his 03 Ported Eaton Cobra and he held off a 523rwhp KB 03 Cobra from a 30mph roll to 150mph. They dyno'd their cars on the same dyno. Just like our SC'd LS1's do not show the track times their horsepower #'s display, the same holds true for the 03 Cobras. I have a friend with a H/C 03 Z06 and his car does not make 470rwhp and he also beats Cobras.. A H/C LS1 with 4.10's is deadly on the street..

I took an '03 w/a catback (~390 @ the wheels) by 3-5 cars with Cam, heads, LT's, ORP, cutout, lid, the rest of the car is 100% stock 99 SS (ie intake, tb, suspension, ect)

I would say someone with a mild cam (tr224) and full exhaust would do it easy.

I watched a buddy of mine be and 03 with a lid and a TNT 100 shot in an 01 SS vert. The cobra owner said his 03 put down 460+ rwhp and 4XX rwtq. They raced twice with the same out come. Now the SS didn't beat the cobra by much the cobra was at his rear bumpe.

Friend of mine had a 1998 Formula, stock motor, only mods were Lid, cutout and a 150 dry shot. He went 11.80's at 118mph. That should be enough to smoke even a modded Rustang.

Vince is right. Two different animals. Don't care what the cobra made on the dyno(w/in reason). Don't care what my chit made on the dyno. Street/ track tells the truth.

I also don't believe a healthy H/C LS1 can't beat a modded cobra. I just did it 2 hours ago(see sig). Ol' boy said his chit went 463/446 on a dynojet last weekend. Asked him what his #'s were at the track..... said his monster went 12.77@116. Me thought Me said... "wanna run it?"

Both cars on ET Streets/skinnies.... from a dig.... pulled him by almost 2 lengths by the time I hit the light in 4th gear. Hurt his feelin's in front of his girl....God...and everybody

I like how his $$$ feels in my pocket

Most reasonably quick bolt on Ls1's can beat a stock Cobra.

The quicker modded Cobras around here are trapping 120+ (123?) and running mid/ low 11's.

For that, you'll need the happy gas.

Seems like boost wise the Supras are still at the top of the pack. I'd say the cheapest way to beat a cobra would be headers/cam/tires and nitrous.

Hell i raced a buddy of mines 04 Cobra (pretty much stock,Some Free Mods) we went from a 25punch, I was feeling pretty confident so i gave him the Move, On his move i ended up geting him by about 3/4 a car length... Then we raced again, Head up this time from a 25punch, I ended up geting him by about 1- 1/4 car length that time... We raced both times From a Roll because he wasn't on tires, i was(nitto's) i would of Embrassed him if it was from a Stop All i have done to my Car is LT's,Trueduals,Free mods and Air Lid that's it...Also, Let it be know im also geting anywhere from 2-6deg of Knock from 3k-6k rpm because of my Freakin header hitting the K memeber, so That's worth 5-10rwhp right there... Still im very Impressed with the Cobra Performance Regardless of me beating him...

last weekend, i raced an 03 cobra with a 2.8 pully (13-14 psi) and bolt ons, he said his car put down 485rwhp and 520rwtq, i heard from some people that he was spraying a 75 shot but i don't know for sure, from a 20mph roll, he beat me by a car and a half or two all the way to mid 4th, (i still have the stock 3.42's)
from a stop, all the way to mid 4th he got me by a car or so, (closer than the 1st race)
mods are in the sig, i was planning to get a 100 shot from TNT or NX by next month,
so not all 03 cobras are easy to beat, there are some fast one around here in oklahoma, at least 4 around my area making 470+ and run low to mid 11's

i would say get a big cam, G5x2, TSP231 237, or something like that plus a 125 wet shot with all the bolt ons and you wouldn't be dissapointed

Just add a 125 dry shot, you will lay the smack down like none other.

You mean with lanes old hotrod? LMAO. Why did you post his fastest time if you weren't the one who drove it?
