Default High compression on stock pistons?

E85 just made the pump locally and now I'm debating on doing the swap. If I do I'd like to take advantage of the higher octane by bumping up the compression. I've got a lq9 with stock rotating assembly and wondering if the stock pistons could handle say 13:1 compression, Structurally speaking. Any info or pointers would be appreciated.

exactly why do you think compression ratio would hurt pistons and how do you intend to hit a ratio like that with stock pistons?

With the extra compression the pistons would see more of a load. I just don't know exactly how much load they can handle and since mine are flycut they would be weaker on the crown.. They handle ot on boosted apps but they don't see that kind of compression always. I was thinking of milling 5.3L heads down to achieve it. My pistons are fly cut enough to make up for the milling.

To mill enough to get CR to 13:1 with flycut pistons would be a LOT... And you might kill a slug anyways. I'd say just get new slugs if you're dead set on it.

Yeah I'd have to mill the heads .044 to get that compression. New pistons are something pricey for me since I just got the engine rebuilt. Maybe ill go something a little lower.
