Question LS7 crankshaft in LS1

I have been doing a little research on this project I am thinking about.. Was a few posts about it but not alot of posts of the "finished" project. I have read the snout needs to be machined and shortned, and they reluctor plates will have to be swapped out to a 24.
Biggest curiosity is, is there any real success stories out there for this project? I know I could just get a Eagle, Callies or Lunati but if this isn't a machinest nightmare for the work and a dream for the price....

Would like to know myself. I know they are setup for a dry sump system which might be the biggest hurdle

The LS7 crank has a 4.00" stroke, you will need to account for this (block/pan clearance, rod/piston/deck height, compression ratio).

The LS7 crank is set up for LIGHT titanium rods/cast pistons. Because of this, the extra work and heavy metal required for balancing increases the cost quite a bit. It generally does not come out worth it in the end, unless the crank was free and/or you have a hookup in the machine shop.

I have a machine shop that can do the work... I am just curious are you saying the compstar rods and diamond pistons I have would not work for the LS7 crank?

^^^ they will work but the crank will need a little extra work to get it to all balance out

but any combination of parts would need to be balanced wouldn't they? or are you saying the cost of the mallory would not be worth it? Does the snout really need to be shortened and if so does anyone know how much?
