can retainer/ timing install
okay guys I have a couple questions about these parts.
1. on my can retainer what keeps the can from grinding on the back of it. should I have some kind of "ring bearing"?
2.The only gasket it gets is the "rubber band" seal?
3. between my can gear and retainer should be the ring bearing correct??
4. and finally on the spacers for my oil pump to clear my double roller the kit didn't come with gaskets. do they need them or no?
the help will be much appreciated and make me feel warm and fuzzy about the build!

1) Nothing but oil. No bearing there.
2) Yes, correct.
3) Yes, correct. It's actually called a Torrington Bearing.
4) No, they do not use gaskets. Be sure to clearance the oil pump to make sure the crank gear does not grind into it.

Put a dab of grease on your oil pump bolts, and the top of the oil pump, then slide the front cover on without the gasket.
It should be able to sit flush against the front of the block, but if it doesn't, pull the front cover off and grind the inside of it where the grease is stuck to it till it does sit flush against the block.
After that put the gasket in and bolt it down
