Im using ls6 yellows, remember i also have about .555 lift on this cam now. All other bolt ons attributed tremendously to this build. And the ONLY reason i put these heads on (p&p 806's) was because of pure luck. They are 5 axis cnc'd and i picked em up for $200. Talk about a steal. I have a 98 car too. . The 12.5lb flywheel is an amazing upgrade, especially 1st and 2nd gear (physics). I did all the mods separately aside from the heads and cam so i could feel the results as i went. Im still amazed by the tq curve on this bitch. It pulls HARD from 2500-6000. And NOBODY believes me when i say its a hotcam. They say "sounds bigger" and "whatever, that thang is too fast". Even had a douche get mad at me. Wtf. The power is very controlled and a constant pull, unlike bigger cams. I'll get a graph as soon as i can. This thing is a tq monster.

This thread got me thinking about a cam swap in my C5Z, recently did a H/C swap in my 99 Hugger and have mulling it over for the C5Z. I want to go with something less wild than my setup in the F-body and been looking for something just a little more aggressive than the hotcam. You have some good recommendations in there. I want to road course the C5Z more and need something that will be easier on the valve train for extended runs higher in the rpms.

Yeah I love my hot cam! I made 370/370 with hot cam and kooks headers. It has an amazing torque curve. My wife says its too fast and gives her butterflies haha she won't ride in it anymore

Really wanted to see the torque curve on the dyno graph..
so whats this i read, talking about all these different type of lobes, modern lobes, xer and lsl lobes? huh lol really though iv got a gmpp ls hotcam with yellow springs, have been thinking about getting the ASA and found howards makes one, so the howards would be better then a GMPP ASA because of the lobes they use ?
neways ima go read up on this lobe stuff now, learn me something .. peace

If your wanting a better version of the ASA cam the take a look at the TICK "SNS" torqueMAX Stage 2

Congrats on the numbers!
Regarding the old Hotcam, how does that compare to the old MTI T-1 cam?
This is what I have in my 2000 SS with no tuning or headers. The torque seams to be really good in the low to mid range which is what I like. This car is mainly a garage queen and only driven on the nicest of days
Cheers,
