valve springs for stock engine
i'm looking at all kinds of different valve springs to replace the ones in my car (all stock internals), and i'd like to do a bit of an upgrade, but i don't want "too much" spring, either.
what's the highest you'd go on spring rates for a daily driver that likes to be driven, with stock cam, rockers, etc?

LS6 springs. Cheapest place i've found them from currently.

No real reason to change springs with low miles on them in the first place unless the OP plans on doing a cam or higher ratio rockers in the near future. The most i'd do is take a couple out of each head and test them to see if they have fatigued from sitting as the car has obviously not been driven much in its life prior to 2004.
PAC 1218 or PAC 1518 ... both are drop in replacement for stock LS6 springs. Both 1218s and 1518s have same exact spring rate and open/closed forces. 1518s have extra treatment for higher reliability (mico bead blasted and nitrited).

If the op is keeping the stock ls1 cam theres nothing wrong with ls6 springs they're cheap and will support 6500 rpms pretty easily. If he has a little more to spend then I would get some PAC 1218s or psi 1511
I did a pac 1218 on my 2000 ta with some comp push rods witch was a very good combination. I shifted at 6100. If your changing your springs you should change your push rods so you wont get any push rod flex at high rpm(you want a stable valve train).
