Default Need help with heads decision

I was about to pull the trigger on a set of afr 210's, but after doing research i would also need after market. rockers because of the valve guides, is this correct? If so that adds at least another $500, so is there a like head with the mid #'s of the afr's that you can use stock rockers? My goal is not a track car, I am wanting the power curve that the afr's have. Thanks.

Ported 243s? Check out Advanced Induction or Total Engine Airflow both sponsors on here. They make awesome low/midrange power, their cheaper than the AFRs, and since their a stock ported head you can use stock rockers.

What's the lift on your cam?? I have an email in to AFR and asked them about the life expectancy of the bronze guides and if it is possible to get Powdered Metal ones installed.

I sent an email also, I will be getting a new custom cam but waiting on the head decision, trying to get everything matched good. Just dont really like the idea of another $500 for rockers..keeping my options open..

You could try a set of used rockers in the classifiedes area. They do pop up from time to time.
