help me put togther a build
Not sure which way I want to go s/c , 's , nitrous , turbo however I know two things. It has to be streetable ,and I'd like over 500hp reliably.......
Right now I have a bolt on stock head cam ls1 with 129k on the clock and she's running great. However I'm not sure doing a build with this block will be reliable. This build Will be slow and parted out over Time trans and rear are taken care of...... any help would be appreciated.
Money is an issue but I want to do it right the first time so I will wait longer and save for better parts
Thanks

Do a Strange S60 from CRP and a built 4L60E from RPM Transmissions. That'll give you a good solid foundation for 500+rwhp. That's my plans at least.
As far as the motor goes - look at my sig. My motor has 145k miles on it. You can spend the cash on the top end first, but just make sure you get things that will support a bigger motor down the road. Don't get 1-3/4" headers and a 3" y-pipe. Or a FAST 92 instead of the 102. That'll save you money in the long run and still make power today. Everything in my sig was thoroughly researched and chosen for power, reliability, and streetability.
I went with lightweight valves, stiff pushrods, stock rockers w/ trunion upgrade, high-end lifters, and cam lobes that won't destroy my motor. If you have the right valvesprings (beehives like PAC 1221 or 1521 or BTR Platinums) and endurance cam lobes with those parts, it'll be plenty on the street. Don't overcam and use the cylinder heads/intake/exhaust to make efficient power.

Well to reach 500 rwhp reliably you have several options to reach that goal, and all will be reliable if done right. The cheapest would be to just throw a 150 shot at it...of course a good tune, proper fuel, etc...goes without saying. You could also just do a turbo or blower and easily reach that number reliably. Last but not least is to do a really aggressive HCI, or better yet a stroker setup that will make 500 rwhp much more street friendly. Or you could simply do what i'm doing as well...a basic budget HCI combo with a small shot of juice. It's all up to you and how much you want to spend
ok lets say i was planning in the future... when this engine takes a crap to build an lq9 mottor with a turbo on it.... what heads and cam should i put on my motor now that would work with the setup in the fture without breaking the bank
