Default Any difference in lq blocks throughout the years

I have been looking for an lq block for some time now and I was talking to a local guy at a show and he said he has one laying around out of his 01 Silverado.

I see a lot of threads about people saying to get an 04+ lq motors but I think that reason was mainly for the internals.

I would only be using the block and possibly the crank. Would I run into any issues with this and what are the main differences throughout the years?

the only difference on the actual block is that the pre-04's have the the different length head bolts.

Which amounts to nothing, so in reality, there is no difference in blocks within the same generation.
