Default LS IROC ECM Mounting

A little bit of background on the problem. I was racing in the brackets at RT66 this weekend. First round I got the redlight win but the car didn't make it 60 ft before dying. Turns out my ECM blew it's 20 amp fuse. I figured that out after it was too late to make 2nd round. But I'm wondering what might have caused that. The ECM was pretty much just stuck under the dash on the passenger side. Could it overheat there? It was about 85-90 degrees all day. Or could the issue be somewhere else. It was pretty frustrating missing 2nd round because of a fuse. Thanks in advance for the help.

Should have mentioned. It's a 2002 LS1 with an 02 Trans Am ECM.

That should not cause a fuse to blow, only pulling too much current. What happened when you replaced the fuse?

Are you sure have the pcm mounted under the dash, and not in the oil pan?? This is the internal engine forum......
