Default Cam Journal Wearing in 120K mile junkyard 5.3L

Hey guys,

I am in the process of a cam/intake swap for my Junkyard 5.3L turbo motor and when I pulled the cam yesterday everything looked great except for this one journal:

You cannot feel anything with your finger and can't get a nail hung up on it but since i am stabbing a $400 custom cam in there I want to make sure I am not making a huge mistake. I am trying to figure out a way to get to that bearing and see if I can get a view of it...possibly clean it.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

"Cleaning it" won't put it back to useable condition. I suggest a new set be installed.

I forgot to finish my thought there...haha (plus I am writing this at work so I shouldn't be on here...shhhhh).

What I was referring to when I said clean it was so I could get a better assessment of its condition and see if it is usable.

From what you are saying, it sounds like it would be better off replaced.

Cam bearings are cheap, $20.
