Default Cam position problems or Crank Sensor

I swapped a LS2 6.0 408 into my 99 Camaro. When i try to start it sometimes it backfires but then next time u try to start it will fire. It says its in batch mode and my cam is producing 0 ohms resistance. Gonna see if i have the wrong cam sprocket but other then that what do u guys think is wrong? I bought the racetronics cam sensor extension harness. I have swapped the outside wires around and that didnt seem to fix the problem. How can u check the harness to see if each pin has the right amount of signal.

It has a 24X reluctor wheel and it has the LS1 cam gear. It had the VVT timing but i converted it over so it doesn't have that now

What color is the crank sensor? I didn't think any of the VVT engines had a 24X reluctor, unless it has been swapped.

Most GenIV swap kits don't switch the Signal and 12V Supply wires with their 24" extension harness. Just pull the pins from the connector by the sensor and swap Pins A and C.

Edit: Derp, I missed the part where you already did that...sorry.

Sounds like you used the wrong cam gear. A LS1 cam gear will not work because it does not have the reluctor wheel. You need a 1x Gen 4 cam gear. They are relatively cheap and we normally carry them in stock.

Search for a picture of a cam gear like yours, or tear into your engine and show us a picture of it.
