Question HELP i need valve spring advice for custom cam

Ok this is the situation.a couple of months ago i was searching through the internet and i found a custom cam grinding place by the name of oregan custom cam. They are located in oregan, they spec out and made a custom cam for my 4.8 to in my 80 gbody monte carlo. This cam is totally custom it was design to produce 400 crank horse power with my little 4.8.The guy that worked at this cam company provided me the specs here they are right here.what is valve spring should i use with this.

244/246 @ .050", 278/280 adv, .566"/.566" lift, 114 lobe sep, recomended int center line at 110

I asked him what valve springs would he use with this setup his reply was to use a spring with 140 lbs on the seat and about 400 or so open.I asked him what was the valve spring height and max lift he recomend. He wasnt able to answer that question. So next i asked him if he had a kit to go with the cam then that he could sell he said that he could put something together that would do the job.But to me thats sounds like someone that dont know what they are doing.

So I decided to turn to the all mighty ls1 tech to see if theres any body that could give me advise about what would be the best springs for the cam spec.I rather get different opinions vs pay someone that really dont know what they are doing spec me out valve springs thats not matched for my appilication.

Oregon
Oregon Cam Grinding.
I know the owners, they have drag raced here in Portland for years.
Ken and Jason Heard.

He does know what he is talking about.

I looked at the Tooley springs, I think they would work, but won't be 400lbs open.

I'd probably look for a .600" max lift spring.

By the way, that's a pretty big cam for a 4.8. Running a carb or injection?

I'm sure the BTRs will handle that cam. If your concerned about 400 open pressure shim them up a little.

"But to me thats sounds like someone that dont know what they are doing."
That could likely be applied to the choice on the cam.........

Be sure to check P2V before starting the car. Just eyeballing it - it likely will be less than .015-.020 on the intake.

Holy **** that's a big cam for a 4.8.

So he's selling you a "custom" cam and has no idea on the springs or the install height?

Did I miss something or have I had one too many beers?
