Forged internals Building a 5.3 from a 2001 suburban for my c-10 and getting ready to send the block to the machine shop. Does anyone make a forged bottom end for the 5.3? I know the factory components are strong in these motors but going for some big numbers and want to cover all my bases.
why not go after more displacement? 3.905 pistons cost the same as 3.8-.82 pistons. pretty much a "free" upgrade as you'll be paying to have the bores sized any way you cut it.
not sure if you're going N/A or not, but if you are the increased displacement would also be a "free" bump in static compression which is definitely desirable. Combine that with some 0.040's for tight quench and you'll have an explosive setup (literally, but in a good way).
