Default TPS wierdness....

Okay, so my car was idling pretty high so I decided to replace the IAC and TPS. The IAC was nasty so I knew it needed to be replaced. I took it out and replaced it and the car was still idling very high after driving it. So, I moved on to the TPS. When I took the old TPS sensor out, I saw that there was black oil in the place where the sensor had been connected! Where could this oil have come from? is this normal or is it indicative of other problems? Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Its from carbon build up when you do that. Did you manualyy clean out the throttle body ? That will cause the plate to stick and can give a high idle, Once you clean that and replace the tps then disconnect the battery for a few minutes and touch the cables together to clear and memory in the system for that then go drive it, it should make your car much happier because it will relearn itself

that makes sense.....what do you mean by happy? do you have to do the thing with the cables to get it to run correctly....
