looks like it would at least eliminate the potential pinched o-ring problem. not sure how i feel about the coarser mesh though - smaller debris would be picked up and sent through the engine instead of stopped by the screen. would almost require an oil pan baffle too with the increase in flow, at high rpm's when paired with a ported pump I could see the pan being sucked dry pretty easily, especially when cornering.

i would also be curious about what effect it has on oil pressure - usually flow increases come at the expense of pressure.

I have been using it with no problems. Have not had problems with the pan being sucked dry.

The two bolt set up is the way to go. Mine makes quite a bit of pressure but I have had no issues with that. The engine looked like new last fall. The filter is going to clean the oil up. Things might just go thru the pump that might have got caught by the screen.

I sent my pump in for a once over and he said it looked good.

I was going to try and run one with an Improved racing trap door baffled pan but i as well am concerned about the mesh. Just wondering if there is anything better out there than running an oem tube with a girdle?

I know at WOT pressure wouldn't really be a concern, but hows it look at lower speeds? would this be something worth using on a street car? I'm with you though, I definitely like the two bolt.

Mine is normal 65 hot crusing. 30 hot idle 70 idle cold. I drive mine all the time no issues.

The improved barrel is just a band-aid at best. Dosnt fix the pick up in the middle of the pan or the capacity issue.

Get a good moroso pan and the Schumann pump and you will be good to go.

Clearance is an issue for me with it being a swapped car so I doubt I'll have room for a higher cap moroso pan. For the time being I plan on running a ported ls6 pump with improved racing oil pan baffle in the stock f-body pan, and maybe the pick up tube we've been discussing. We'll see how she does. Price on the pick up tube? It's not listed ..

Good info though regardless, thanks for your input
