Default is my up block ok?

ok so I am new to the forum but I have been reading up a lot. I just got an lq4 motor and I was getting ready to order some l92 heads for it so I started getting the motor ready for it. I got the stock 317 heads off and was cleaning the pistons when I noticed odd colors on the cylinder wall. to me it just looks like a hot spot? maybe a crack?(hopefully not!) here is the pictures. its in 2 different cylinders on the left bank. I have not taken the right head off yet. thanks for the help!

Hmmm. Can you feel any separation in the metal? Anytime I build an engine I would take the time to tear it down and hone it. I've seen a lot of blocks with pitting from rust but no marks like that.

Yep, looks like a crack. Take it to your local machine shop and see what they can do about it.

When I pulled the heads on my 6.0l to change cam and lifters, the cylinder bore had similar weird looking color marks on them but the surface was still smooth. It now has 7000 miles since with no problems.
