Yes. It is an opinion that can be easily found and researched on this site.

The profile has been long proven in the LS1 and even LT1 world. The 234/242 makes power. G5X3 is the most famous of these profiles. Look up the G5X3/AFR 205 combos that used to do 490-510rwhp.

And Brian's cam did 517rwhp uncorrected with TEA LS6 heads on a 346 using basically the LSL/XE lobes he is selling as the Stage IV. I think the LSA/ICL might have been different but similar.

Yes, it uses LSL and XE lobes. The combination works due to the added seat to seat duration on the exhaust lobe keeping the exhaust lobe open longer during the overlap cycle, allowing the intake charge to be pulled through the exhaust.

Quick question Brian, I recently purchased the stage 4 cam as recommended to me by my builder. Just read what you said about not working well the 1.60 valves, were you referring to Dr. Whiggams current cam or you stage 4?

Im running dart 225 heads with 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves in my 11:1cr 347ci motor. Just making sure the stage 4 is going to be the right choice since im looking to make more power and rev out a little higher with the new cam. My current cam is an EPS 230/234 .600 on a 112+4.

I think you'll be fine with your Dart heads, I haven't heard of them being as sensitive to extra exhaust duration as the AFR heads seem to be.

I had some more feedback lately on this cam, one guy got his car to run in 6th gear at 1100 rpm without bucking. He said it makes power everywhere and he loves it. I'll try to find his email and post it up.

I'm stuck between the BTR stage IV and the Tick Performance stage 3. The cams are very close in duration and overlap. I wish there were more real world results from both.

After seeing my builder use the BTR stage IV in a GTO I knew I had to have one. That GTO idles great, sounds awesome and makes killer power.

Mr. Brian Tooley, I also just picked up one of your Stage IV camshafts for an LS1 I am building for a manual GTO. It has 3.90 gears in the back, a BKK 80mm throttle body, LS6 intake, 241 cylinder heads that have been milled 0.008" and full bolt ons with an X pipe setup and some N2O 100 shot once or twice a month.

The bottom end and top end have been upgraded with ARP fasteners.

I was wondering if the stock rocker arms would endure this camshaft? I just upgraded them with the trunion kit from Comp Cams last night too as a safety measure.

Valve springs are going to be Lunati double springs.

Will the AC work ok with your Stage IV camshaft?

Yes, the stock rockers will work fine. All of my camshafts use limited valve lift to minimize potential valve tip damage that can occur when using excessive valve lift with stock rockers.

Whether or not the AC will work will depend on how good your tuner is, with good tuning your AC should work.

Thanks for the business!

Ill be having my first start-up tonight with this cam barring some crazy mishap putting the intake manifold back on. Brian has been absolutely great to deal with, would recommend him to anyone. Hopefully the rain (and snow) hold off another week or so!

Car is just going to be a Frost tune for now, probably won't get it dyno tuned until the spring. But I couldn't go all winter without hearing it and driving it around a little bit before storage. Steve at tunedbyfrost.com was also fantastic to deal with as well.

I installed this cam in the Gto Beave was talking about. It's a ls2 car with ported 220 trickflows and ported fast 102. The car is a animal. Very violent down low and pulls to 7000.
It works great and won't beat up the valvetrain.

Heres a second clip of my exhaust. It was idling at about 1000rpm, a little high, need to get a full dyno tune still.
