I've decided since it's so late in the year just to wait on putting my engine back together and going with a cam from Brian, it's basically a stage three with a little less intake duration. I wish I would have done this years ago.

Never put it on a dyno. Depends on where at, it should be close to that. Just care what they run at the track.

There is a guy trapping 118-120 right now with our Stage 3 SNS camshaft, stock 243's and a Fast 102 in a convertible T/A 6 speed car. RW has to be at least 3600lbs+ as the car has no weight reduction and is a convertible. Maybe closer to 3700 even?

With good CNC heads he'd be right at a 126mph trap speed.

A few guys have made 440-450rwhp and 410-420rwtq cam only with LS6 intakes. Much like they have with Brian's camshaft. Most make 420-440rwhp/400-410rwtq.

Really splitting hairs between the two profiles. Honestly, I'd go with whoever offered you the best customer service which between myself and Brian...is going to be hard to choose from LOL!

Same here, I have pretty much narrowed my cam choices down to these two cams. Only other cam I have in my list is the SNS Stage 2. Street car only, AI 219ccHCR 853s 58cc, .040 cometics, FAST 92/NW 92, SLP UD, ARH longtubes 1 3/4" & 3" ory, SLP loudmouth, M6 and Strange S60 w/4.10s. Street races from a dig as well as roll races (50-150mph). Want to make as much power as possible but don't want it to be sluggish down low.

BTR Stage IV or SNS Stage 3 is probably going to be it. Just have to decide.

Here is my dyno thread. Some things to note, I didn't spin it high enough to get peak power, and it is a mustang dyno, through a 12-bolt and a 3" steel driveshaft, also on the stock clutch (that was immediately begging for help on the drive home). I purchased some 1 7/8" kooks and custom true duals that I am installing and will have it dynoed again in the spring, spinning it to 6800. I firmly believe the stainless works headers held me back. 2.5" collectors, 2.5" y-pipe and cats.

I can put the car in 6th at 40 (with the 4.11's) and its pretty dang smooth. But that is all in the tuning. Car is an absolute freight train even shifting at 6400. Can't wait to feel it again come spring time.

That car sounds amazing! Just ordered the stage IV cam from BTR to go with the BTR dual springs and push rods on a pair of 799 heads. Later this winter I'll invest in the fast 92 and NW tb. Should make for one hell of a ride in the spring.

I've been running Brian's stage IV since mid/end of summer in my 00 Camaro. Haven't gotten an appropriate set of injectors in the car yet so it's still only roughed in, but the car idles nice around 950 and has no trouble cruising through town or on the highway in 6th gear with 3.42's. I have a vid of it i've been meaning to get to Brian but it's stuck on a dead phone at the moment.

I'm going to bump this up. After doing a lot of reading and talking to Brian I'm "peas and carrots" about this cam.

I'd do it.

But then again, I'm fond of the profile. The LSL/XE lobe combination is excellent.

11.5:1 is about as much as I'd run on 93 with that cam.

I asked Brian what the optimium CR I shoot shoot for and he said 11:1

I'm sure it has to do with some black magic voodoo valve timing events which I have not learned about yet.

The intake valve closing might be early, which would build up dynamic compression.

Can someone post the valve events and what lobes this cam is on?

The 11:1 might have had to do with piston to valve clearance and stock bottom ends.

According to all the DCR preaching I've read on this site in the past several years, which so far I am a believer in, this cam would want an 11.2-11.6 compression ratio with 11.5 being optimal on 93 octane pump gas. I would LOVE to hear Tooley's chime in on this subject, and maybe even Pat G, Predator Z, Josh@Spartan(Damien), Martin@Tick, Ron@Vengeance, Alan@Futral, ED@FTI, etc. etc. and see this turn into one of the best cam threads in years and sticky material... wishful thinking
