500 is too low. And SS3600 stall is perfect for that cam's power range, ask me how I know (see sig)

It sounds high but a 3200 is the minimum converter for an ls car perions IMO and 3600 is a better compromise for performance while still being great to drive. A lot of people run a 4000 and higher too.

My car was just like yours when it was stock converter on a 230/224 reverse split cam. Ran 8.4@86mph (poop). Put in the converter and ran 7.8@89mph first try, eventually with some more tweaks ran 7.7@90mph.
