Default Piston and rod swap question

I have an lq4 and I also have a set of pistons and rods out of a tbss. Can I just swap the TBSS pistons and rods over to the lq4 crank or would they need to be rebalanced? I'm not exactly sure what year the lq4 is but I think that it is a 04.

They would definitely need to be rebalanced with the LQ4 crank.

Only way not to have to do that is to put the entire TBSS rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons) in the LQ4 block.

Also you have to check the bores on the LQ4...if they are rusted or pitted and you need a hone/bore to clean then up you probably won't be able to use the TBSS pistons. Otherwise if the block is clean, all you need to do is balance them and toss them in.

Depending on what year this Lq4 ends up being I might just buy some aftermarket rods and pistons since it has to be balanced and spray the devil out of it until I can save up to go turbo.
