Default Main and Rod bearings with Callies stroker crank

What familiy of bearings do I need to run with a compstar bottom end. If I go with clevite, will P series bearings be good enough for a street vehicle that sees the track a few times a year? Would H be a better option?

Also I was thinking about king bearings and it looks like they only make the XP race bearings for the mains. You can get HP bearings for the rods, but not the mains? Will the XP series be a bad idea for a street vehicle?

You need H bearings. Aftermarket cranks typically have larger journal fillets, so you need a narrower bearing to give yourself sufficient side clearance. Clevite H's should be more than sufficient for you - more of a performance oriented bearing anyway. I think ws6 store has a combo deal to save yourself some coin. Here it is: http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...-bearings-LS1/

rats.

I believe the H's come in 0.001, 0.010, and 0.020" undersizes. hopefully one of those suits you. Has your crank been ground at all?

Not yet. I believe I have a bad bearing so I need to pull the engine and inspect.
