difference between Cloyes 9-3153A and 9-3158A?
I have done some searching but can't find a difference, other than the 3 is older and the 8 is newer.
Main difference being price, but both are single roller Cloyes hex adjust systems.
Thanks

I think the difference has to do with whether or not your cam position sensor is located in the front of the block or not. There's features machined into the cam sprocket depending on the application.
From what I can tell - it seems that the 9-3158A is made to be compatible with a front mount sensor. The 9-3153A does not have the machined features on the cam sprocket so will not work with LS2 style cam sensor positioning.
So in short: -3153 is for LS1/LS6. -3158 can be used with LS1/LS6/ and LS2
I'll be running -3158 on my LS1

Interesting, thanks.
I had planned on buying the 3153 for $115, but Scoggins Dickey has what appears to be a Rollmaster single sold under their own NMotion brand name, for $68. I may pick up that instead.
I ran Cloyes hex adjusts in all my old Ford race engines which is why I just defaulted to the Cloyes kit. The single Rollmaster on a stock cam and OEM-ish springs should be absolutely fine, but it is hard to break from the security of "what I know".
Thanks.
