Default What cam?

ok I know, do a search. But I have and I really can't find what I am looking for. I want to cam my 2000 z28. No major mods. Just the basic bolt ons. I want a cam that that sounds mean at idle and gives me more low to mid range power. I really don't know too much about cams. Thanks for the input.

Either of these would be good:

http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...1-ls6-engines/

http://www.briantooleyracing.com/nat...-camshaft.html

Each has a smaller 223 cam, but I think you'll be fine with either of the 227 cams. The Tick cam will make a little more power and torque, but will be a little more rowdy on the street. The BTR cam will drive a little nicer and still make good power, but not quite as much torque.

Tick Performance SNS Stage 2 with the mild lobe..

Give Tick a call and tell them what you are looking for and they will hook you up.

It has more overlap. So it will make more power, but also will idle a little worse and cruise a little worse in comparison.

However, with a good tune, it shouldn't make much difference. The overlap isn't so great that it'll be awful with a good tune.

make power not sound .the correct exhaust and tune can achieve the sound you want .a cam with a narrow lsa will give you a choppy sound.talk to cam tech to get the best cam for your whole car combo.

I think you'd really like the SNS Stage 2. Here are a few idle clips of it:

If you're looking for low to mid range power, and a choppy idle then you have found the cam you're looking for.

Yes we do sell an entire camshaft swap kit for $929.96. That includes an Elite Series Camshaft of your choice, Brian Tooley Racing Platinum Springs with tool steel retainers, Comp Cams Magnum push rods in the length you need between 7.300"-7.500", LS2 timing chain, balancer bolt, 2x water pump gaskets, timing cover gasket, timing cover seal and a Tick Performance in house ported LS6 oil pump.

I can substitute the LS2 chain for a Katech C5R chain for an additional 105 dollars. 1034.96 is the total if you want the C5R chain for those that so choose.

Hi Martin

just found one of your sns's at my door. lots of lift .613 .620 lift.

What would the ramifications be if I run 1.6 scorpions ? Can I run the stock 1.7's without concern?

That sounds perfect Martin... I just bought the LS6 Intake so I'm going to budget for the next couple weeks and hopefully be able to purchase this kit. I really appreciate the help and the awesome vids.

Stock is 1.7.

You'll be fine with proper valvesprings.

I'd run the stock rockers all day long over aftermarket rockers.
