Default Engine builders come inside

I need to get the rod bolts loose on my scat rods (they are new) and I dont have a rod vise. They are torqued to like 70ft/lbs and I dont really have a way to hold them to get the rod bolts out. Would it be alright to use an impact at like 100 ft/lbs to loosen them once?

You might strip the head of the bolt. I would just take it to local shop have them loosen th em up.

NO, dont ever use an impact. I used a big thick screwdriver and put it in the big end of the rod to act as a leverage point while I broke the bolts loose with a TQ wrench.
