Default Cant remove main caps after stud install

Had my machine shop do an align hone and now I can't remove the main caps to get the bearings/crankshaft in. Wasn't nearly this hard when tearing the engine down. Had to use a pry bar, but it still was feasible. Any suggestions on what to do?

Tap them with a mallet. Pretty common to have to do that to get them off.

there is a special tool designed for pulling the caps.

You might check with local parts stores to see if any rent them out.

I purchased one on here a while back.

What if that will not do the trick? It will wiggle but will not come out.

The tool is designed to pull the cap straight up. This prevents binding on the studs or damaging the edges of the main cap.
